Types of Adaptations


Behavioural, structural, and functional are three types of adaptation in organisms. Behavioural adaptations involve actions or responses, such as hibernating, playing dead, migrating, or hunting at night. Structural adaptations involve physical characteristics, such as internal structures, body shapes, or external coloring. Functional adaptations involve internal systems that affect the biochemistry or physiology of an organism.
