Home Module Properties of Liquids: Viscosity

Properties of Liquids: Viscosity

Different solutions have different fluidity. The liquid which flows slowly is known to have higher viscosity. The term, viscosity means resistance to flow. It decreases as the liquid becomes warmer. Thus, it can be  said that viscosity is temperature dependent.

Learning Objectives

After completing this module, you will be able to:
 - Define viscosity.
 - Explain why different solutions have different viscosity.
 - Demonstrate an experiment to show the effect of temperature on viscosity.
